Spectres

Spectres have a reputation for being punishing. As Drowned In Sound put it: "If guitars are supposed to be dead, it's because Spectres have killed them". An onslaught of devastating feedback, like Sonic Youth down a haunted well, they're not for the faint of heart or the sensitive of ear, yet despite their bleakness, there's an ascorbic humour to their approach, one that's seen them make a fake James Bond theme song for their namesake film, and brutally burn Fearne Cotton to death whilst John Peel looks on in one of their music videos. Fun for the whole family.
